Milestones

Legislate so helium can only be sold for essential purposes such as MRI scanners and scientific research. Prohibit wasteful non-essential uses such as party balloons to safeguard this finite gas for healthcare and critical science.

Helium is vital for MRI scanners that diagnose cancer, brain and heart disease. It is also essential in semiconductor and computer chip production — technologies society now depends on. Once wasted in balloons, helium is lost forever and cannot be replaced
