Legislate so that anyone convicted of the rape or murder of women or children can never be released. Such offenders should face indefinite containment with no parole or early release, putting public safety and victims’ rights above offender rehabilitation.
Rape or murder of women and children is predatory, not a mistake. We think these offenders act on deep-rooted, dangerous behaviour that cannot be cured, and that releasing them gambles with lives and retraumatises victims. The Government’s first duty is to protect the innocent. We think permanent containment is the only way to ensure safety and justice for women, children, and families.
