Milestones

Immediately stop the EWR project and protect our countryside. Invest in repairing and improving existing rail infrastructure to help ensure more punctual, clean services with better facilities—before creating new lines that we think could devastate farmland, wildlife habitats, and rural communities.

We think the EWR project threatens communities, homes, and farmland, putting local supply chains and food supplies at risk. Centuries-old hedgerows, chalk streams, and habitats for barn owls, lapwings, skylarks, bats, and more could face destruction. Stop this project before what we believe to be irreversible damage could be done. And, if a new route is to be taken, choose one of the other proposed routes that we consider to be less environmentally destructive.
