Ask the government to reform Child Maintenance Service (CMS) rules so large pension contributions can't unfairly reduce child maintenance. Cap allowable deductions and give CMS power to investigate suspected income diversion into pensions to avoid paying fair support.
The current CMS system allows non-resident parents to reduce their child maintenance by making large pension contributions. We believe this loophole is unfair and harms children financially. CMS should prioritise children's needs and prevent income diversion used to avoid parental responsibility.
