If a Grandparent has been a constant part of a child’s life, I believe they should have some rights.
Some Grandparents have been part of their Grandchildren’s lives since birth sharing the care and responsibility of the children as a sort of third parent. I think these Grandparents should have the ability to claim some rights to be in contact with the children if there is a separation or bereavement. It saddens me that in some cases a Grandparent can be totally cut off without any rights whatsoever.
