Milestones

Introduce a right for men to, within a set time frame after being informed of a pregnancy, legally opt-out of the parental rights and financial responsibility associated with it. This could promote fairness, equality and informed choices in reproductive decisions.

Men currently have no legal way to opt-out of parenthood once a pregnancy occurs. We believe this creates inequality in reproductive rights and responsibilities. Allowing men to opt out of legal parenthood within a set time frame could promote fairness, equality and ensure parenthood is based on consent and choice.
