We think the current grooming gangs inquiry has failed. Several survivors have resigned from its panel and there have been calls for the resignation of the Safeguarding Minister. Two prospective Chairs have walked away from the process. The new public inquiry must be fully independent.
Survivors no longer have any confidence that they will achieve justice. We demand that the Government appoints a judge to lead a Public Inquiry into the Rape Gangs scandal. The Inquiry must be wide ranging and have the power to compel MPs, Local Government Officers, Social Workers and local Councillors amongst others to give evidence. Justice delayed is Justice denied.
