Pass a law which grants automatic UK citizenship to individuals who have lived in the UK for at least 15 years on a continuous and lawful basis, and who have consistently worked and paid taxes and National Insurance Contributions.
We also ASK for children born in the UK to these long-term residents be automatically granted British citizenship. This measure could acknowledge the long-term economic and social contributions of foreign nationals who have made the UK their permanent home. We urge the Government to establish a fair, transparent and automatic pathway to British citizenship for long-term taxpaying residents who have demonstrated commitment and contribution to the country over 15 years or more.
