Some spouses of British citizens and parents of British children may find themselves separated as a family for months, whilst applying for a visa, which is my family's experience. I believe the high fees that can run into thousands, and long process involved, make this situation cruel and unfair.

We are concerned that many British families are split apart by unaffordable visa fees, with one parent applying from overseas, whilst one may need to be in the UK to work. Family life shouldn’t depend on income in this way.
