Legislate to allow benefits currently given to the birth parents of children who are currently being cared for by social services or have been passed to family members or other carers to instead be given to those family members or carers doing the caring.
Parents that have lost their children via social services are currently still receiving their child benefit paid to them which stops any carers been allowed to claim for the child/children which is putting many families in financial difficulty when they are trying to save and rescue children from neglect and harm. Parents currently don't have to give the child benefit to the carer, leaving them to spend it on themselves rather than their children.
