Milestones

We believe Israel is obliged to respect international humanitarian law under the 1949 Geneva Conventions which includes facilitating access by the International Committee of the Red Cross to all Palestinian detainees. We feel it's unacceptable that Israel continues to refuse access.

We believe the UK Government should actively insist that there is no justification whatsoever for an alternative to the ICRC and that it must retain its uniquely vital and independent role in monitoring the conditions and treatment of all Palestinian detainees. The UK Government should actively promote and advocate for adherence to IHL and strongly insist that Israel immediately grants the ICRC regular access to all of its Palestinian detainees.
