Milestones

The current process allows Government to force top-down council reorganisations without a final, binding say from local residents. We believe that local consultations are often flawed. We demand the law be changed to give residents the democratic right to a referendum.

Giving people a final say in a binding local referendum is the only democratic way to ensure reorganisations of local councils can only be done if there is support from the local people.
