Milestones—
In order to promote more investment in UK industry by domestic & international investors the government should remove the current 0.5% Stamp Duty Investment Tax on UK listed Equities.
Removing Stamp Duty Reserve Tax will help the UK to be a competitive investment location when compared with other Countries where there is no equivalent tax levied. Such reform could also encourage greater participation in share ownership by UK savers, align with the Government’s stated objective to revitalise the London stock market and reinforce the UK’s reputation as a leading global financial centre.
