I’m calling on the government to ban smoking in shared public spaces, including pub gardens, outdoor dining areas, and busy streets. Designated smoking zones should be introduced instead, clearly marked and separated to ensure smoke-free communal environments.
Smoking in public spaces exposes non-smokers to harmful secondhand smoke, infringing on their right to clean air and personal liberty. Cigarette litter also pollutes pavements and public areas, creating an unpleasant and unhealthy environment. Everyone should be able to enjoy shared spaces safely and freely.
