We believe mayors represent an expensive, unnecessary layer of bureaucracy that duplicates existing council functions without delivering proportional value.

We call on the Government to introduce legislation to scrap all mayors immediately and redirect any savings to frontline services like policing and education. We believe streamlined and empowered local councils would provide faster cheaper governance.
