Milestones

We want the Government to improve TMJ care by creating a verified specialist directory, funding NHS education and early imaging, supporting tailored treatment planning, and backing a UK TMJ charity to provide information, advocacy, and raise public awareness.

TMJ disorder is an umbrella term covering a range of jaw conditions, yet patients are often told they have “TMJ disorder” without scans, specific diagnosis, or tailored treatment. Imaging is delayed, and many non specialist maxillofacial consultants lack knowledge, leaving patients in years of pain, without precise diagnosis, and recieving ineffective care. Urgent Government action is needed to set standards and improve outcomes.
