I want to make it mandatory for doctors, nurses, dentists and other healthcare professionals to be educated in autism spectrum disorder.
I was diagnosed with Autism in April 2025 at the age of 18. I though life would be 'easier' with a diagnosis as I expected healthcare professionals to understand me better. However since being diagnosed I have found I am more misunderstood and doctors don't seem to understand autism at all, more specifically the spectrum. They believe autism is a visible disability, and, if you can't see it, it’s not there. I have posted on social media about this and many people say they have experienced the same.
