Milestones

We want the Government to introduce a law preventing MPs or anyone who holds elected office in England from running for, accepting, or holding elected or appointed public office in a foreign government while still in office.

Elected officials should be fully accountable to the people they represent. Holding or seeking office in a foreign government while serving as an MP or councillor creates potential conflicts of interest and could undermine public trust. A clear legal ban would strengthen integrity and democratic accountability.
