Pass a law that allows asylum seekers to work as soon as possible to reduce pressure on public funds and so they can support themselves. Create a 5-year route to ILR for asylum seekers who follow the law, contribute to society, and live safely in the UK.
Many asylum seekers wait years without the right to work, which can lead to poverty, stress, and dependence on government support. Allowing them to work could help the economy, improves mental health, and lets people support their families with dignity. A 5-year ILR path could give stability, reduce uncertainty, and help people build safe, productive lives in the UK.
