Milestones

We want the Government to make it a legal requirement for all secondary schools to have a counsellor in school at least once a week so all secondary school students have access to have therapy through school.

Since COVID, the number of young people who have probable mental health disorders has reportedly increased from 11.6% of 6-16 year-olds in 2017 to 17.4% in 2021, which we believe means that the need for mental health councillors for this age group has also increased exponentially. However, this also means it has become harder for many to access this support, so we want to make this support easier to access.
