Require all staff working with children in schools to receive mandatory training to identify children in mental health crisis through behavioural changes, not just physical signs, so early intervention supports development and wellbeing.
Children’s mental health is vital to learning and development, yet signs of crisis may often be missed because staff may focus on physical changes instead of behaviour. We urge the Government to make mental health training mandatory for all staff working with children in schools to ensure early intervention, prevent harm, and save lives.
