Increase financial support for widows and widowers with children under 18, and allow them to automatically access Pupil Premium and Early Years Pupil Premium Funding.
We feel the Government doesn't offer adequate financial long term support for widows or widowers and this greatly impacts those with children under 18. If spouses paid into the Government pension, regardless of the length of contribution this disappears. Many are being evicted or have homes repossessed, living on the breadline through no fault of their own. If the Government really want to bring children out of poverty they need to stop overlooking the whole band of children in this situation.
