We believe the Government should put a limit on the percentage of computer parts available in the UK that AI companies can purchase at 10% of the UK’s available stock.
We're now in the midst of a RAM shortage where the cheapest part of a computer has now experienced a price surge with one example — a Crucial Pro DDR5 32GB kit — increasing by 75% in a month. We believe this is directly caused by AI-centric companies investing heavily into AI. We are concerned that if we don't do something, it may be very likely that these companies will not stop until they have control over every computer part.
