I’d like the Government to pass a law which extends the time to bring a maternity discrimination claim to the tribunal to one year.

Many working mothers rely on "discretionary" enhanced maternity leave, which can make them vulnerable to maternity discrimination. Their pay rises, opportunities for progression or training can be held back on realisation of their pregnancy and they may feel powerless to take action against this due to the threat of removal of their "discretionary" enhanced maternity leave. We believe 3 months is far too short a time limit at a financially very vulnerable time.
