Require builders to give homebuyers (past, present and prospective) full electrical and plumbing plans as standard. We think clear documentation would improve safety, transparency, and long-term maintenance, helping ensure buyers know exactly how their home is constructed and serviced.
Homeowners can struggle without electrical and plumbing plans, as faults can be harder and more expensive to identify and repair. Without these documents, we often cannot verify whether builders completed work according to regulations or agreed specifications. This lack of transparency can lead to safety risks, unnecessary costs, and reduced trust. We think requiring builders to supply plans would protect consumers and ensure better building standards.
