Milestones

Create and fund local “Litter Crews” in every community to help reduce litter, improve public spaces, and run education programmes that encourage people not to litter.

Litter is a growing problem in towns and cities. We feel that councils often don’t have enough resources to keep public spaces clean, and existing fines are not changing behaviour. Government-funded Litter Crews could: • Keep streets, parks and public areas clean • Work with schools and community groups on anti-litter education • Encourage pride in local areas • Reduce long-term clean-up costs by changing behaviour This could create cleaner, safer, and more welcoming communities for everyone.
