Milestones

Create and fund a national grant scheme so disabled adults on low incomes anywhere in the country can get accessible holidays and respite breaks. This should be funding for several short trips or one longer holiday (UK or abroad) and can pay for more than one support worker’s travel & accommodation.

I am a young adult, who is Deaf-Blind, Epileptic and I also have a serious neurological condition. To travel safely I need two support workers. I often pay for my own and my carer's travel and accommodation, therefore my one holiday can cost two or three times more than it would of a non-disabled person. I would like to be able to take short trips to Europe or maybe one further afield, but if staff changes are required mid-holiday, I also must cover the additional expense of those flights. Most charity help stops at 18 years old, so as a young adult there is almost no support.
