Change the law so that all students who came to the UK under the age of 18 on a dependent visa, but without settled status, are eligible for home fee status at UK universities.
Many young people are brought to the UK by their parents as children and grow up here before applying to university as adults. We believe charging them international fees due to their immigration status, which many did not choose, is a clear injustice and may raise human rights concerns. We feel it unfairly penalises children for adults’ decisions, blocks access to education, wastes talent the UK has educated and invested in, and harms social mobility.
