We want the UK Government to condemn attacks on Kurds in Northern Syria and use diplomatic pressure to stop any violence and work with international partners to promote lasting peace and stability and provide protection to Kurdish areas in accordance with Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
Kurdish civilians in Northeast Syria have faced violence, displacement and instability from military operations. After years of conflict, we are concerned their situation risks getting worse without international pressure. We believe that the UK has a responsibility to uphold human rights and support vulnerable communities. Acting now could help protect Kurdish lives, reduce suffering, and promote long term peace and stability in the region.
