Milestones

Pass a law so no political party is allowed to use the national or constituent flags for any political purposes in any way. We want it to be a criminal offence to use, modify, alter or change the appearance of any national flag from the UK for political purposes.

We believe the flags of the UK and constituent nations are being used by political parties and activists to suggest that they represent the values inherent in these flags. We feel this is dangerous, as we believe that our flags belong to all citizens, irrespective of their political views, race, gender, age or other descriptor. The flag should be a symbol of unity – the common denominator that reflects shared values. We believe they are too precious to be used to become a symbol not of what we share, but what divides us.
