We want the UK Government to help protect Kurds and other minority communities in Syria and Turkey by applying diplomatic pressure on both the Syrian and Turkish Governments to stop any attacks, ensure civilian safety, and uphold human rights for all affected minority communities.
Recent attacks on Kurds have put civilians at grave risk, with shelling, displacement, deaths, injuries, and many people missing. It has been reported that Kurds, Syria’s largest minority, have faced repeated violence and rights violations. We believe the UK Government should apply diplomatic pressure on the Governments of Syria and Turkey, and urge them to protect Kurdish civilians, ensure humanitarian access, and uphold human rights.
