Milestones

Government to initiate a long-term programme to decouple the UK nuclear deterrent from United States technical and logistical support; invest in the domestic development of missile delivery systems & maintenance infrastructure to ensure the UK possesses a truly sovereign "Life-of-Type" capability.

The UK’s deterrent relies on the US-managed Trident missile pool and technical support. Relying on a third party for critical security infrastructure can create a strategic vulnerability. To ensure national safety regardless of shifts in foreign politics, we believe we must achieve full technical sovereignty. We call for a transition to a domestic delivery system and maintenance framework, ensuring the UK possesses a truly independent "Life-of-Type" capability similar to France.
