Ban spitting on the streets.
I am worried that spitting in public places could spread infectious disease. Saliva and mucus contain live pathogens responsible for tuberculosis, influenza, COVID-19, pneumonia, and meningitis. Once expelled onto the ground, these pathogens can contaminate shoes, hands, dust, and water runoff — creating multiple pathways for transmission, especially in dense urban areas. I want the government to make it an offence to spit in public.
