We ask the Government to review how media regulators, including Ofcom and the BBFC, ensure religious sensitivity is treated consistently and fairly, and that all faiths receive equal consideration within UK media standards.
There are concerns that religious language may be treated inconsistently in UK media, raising concerns about fairness and equal respect for different faiths. We feel a Government review of how media regulators regulate this would help ensure clearer, more consistent standards and support a balanced, respectful approach to all religions in broadcast and film, to ensure that all religions are afforded equal consideration within existing regulatory frameworks.
