Many grassroots football fixtures have been postponed due to grass pitches being in poor, unplayable condition. Many grassroots clubs do not have enough facilities available to accommodate the games.
We believe it is an absolute must that investment is made into this sector and needs to come from the Government. I speak for many when I describe the impact it is having on our children, when we are all looking forward to a game on the weekend and then it is called off following a pitch inspection. Some teams go weeks without playing a single game and it’s upsetting for many kids who mentally rely on this social interaction. Please consider our children and our future.
