The Government should ban estate agents from soliciting potential buyers to bid more on properties, as we believe this is pushing property prices up and pushing buyers to even spend more than their budget. Everyone should be able to afford a place to live.

As a couple who have been actively looking to buy a property, we believe it is unacceptable for estate agents to force you to bid more on an offer that you already put on. Some estate agents claim that there are many offers and you should bid more to get the property, they don’t always disclose how many offers or how much. We feel this is an irresponsible money-making practice that is pushing property prices up to a point where no one can afford a place anymore. People shouldn’t be having to fight to buy a home.
