Milestones

Once a UK passport is reported lost, it is cancelled and cannot be used, even if later found. We ask the Government to allow reactivation within a reasonable timeframe, with security checks.

When a UK passport is reported lost, it is immediately cancelled, even if later found, forcing holders to pay £94.50 unnecessarily. Allowing reactivation within a few hours or a day, with strict security checks, would save money, reduce hassle, and be fair, while keeping border security intact.
