We call on the Government to cap individuals’ net worth at £1 billion, and to tax all wealth above this threshold at 100% to fund the National Health Service. We believe this is an ethical act of governance and could be an opportunity for the UK to set a global & historical precedent.

We believe extreme concentrations of wealth undermine democratic accountability, distort public life, and enable undue influence over policy and institutions. We believe no individual accumulates £1,000,000,000 without reliance on public infrastructure, labour, and stability. A wealth cap could act as a safeguard against corruption and hoarding, while redirecting excess wealth to the NHS could strengthen a vital public service and return value to the society that helped to enable such accumulation.
