Cancel the "Restoration and Renewal" program. Instead of spending up to £39bn on the Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster), the Government should build a modern, cost-effective seat of democracy for a fraction of the cost. Savings must be diverted to the NHS and public services.

In our view, the possible £39.2bn cost is an insult to taxpayers during a national crisis. We are told "there is no money," yet billions are found for a Victorian relic. We believe that common sense must prevail over sentimentality, and that a purpose-built building could save tens of billions and be more efficient. The British people should not bankroll a multi-billion-pound fossil while our hospitals and schools are crumbling. Put public need before old stones.
