Milestones

We want our government to prioritise construction of affordable housing and improved affordability of existing housing so it's genuinely affordable for all. High housing costs, including rent and mortgages, are making it hard for many people and families to secure stable, safe, affordable homes.

We call for policies that incentivise the development of diverse housing options at prices accessible to those with moderate and low incomes. We see this as including exploring initiatives like Rent Control, Inclusionary Zoning in new developments and increased funding for Social Housing programs. We believe that access to affordable housing is a fundamental human right, crucial for the wellbeing of our community and that it is time for action to ensure that everyone has a place to call home.
