We call for the establishment of an independent body which will run background checks on all Members of Parliament.

We believe that recent scandals have shown the need for Parliamentary reform. We need people to trust the Government to have proper procedures to deal with these types of issues. Therefore we believe that a new independent body which has the power to run background checks on Members of Parliament is needed to retain public trust in Parliamentary systems. We can’t brush over issues so lightly and in our view there needs to be more scrutiny in the way our Parliamentarians are acting.
