The UK Government should seize all tankers in Russia’s Shadow Fleet – ships that are avoiding international sanctions by transporting oil with false flags, with communications off, without proper insurance, and sometimes in a dangerous state of repair.

Russia is able to fund it's invasion of Ukraine using the proceeds made from its shadow fleet. The United States, France and Estonia have seized these tankers before, and the UK has aided the US and France. We should take a more active role in seizing these ships that are undermining the rules of the sea and funding the misery of Ukrainians. We believe damaging Russia's economy is one of the most cost-effective methods we have of helping Ukraine.
