Ensure that no working age individual on benefits receives a higher basic income than a pensioner living solely on the State Pension. Review benefit levels to bring them in line with the income the Government has deemed sufficient for pensioners.
We believe this would create a fairer system that does not disadvantage older people who rely entirely on the State Pension. Pensioners should not be placed at a financial disadvantage compared to working age benefit claimants.
