We ask the UK Government to publicly call for the end to the US’ economic embargo and measures preventing oil from reaching Cuba, and to raise this through diplomatic channels, including the United Nations and the UK–Cuba Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement.
Cuba is facing severe fuel shortages and blackouts, worsened by the US embargo and blocked oil shipments. We believe the UK should use its diplomatic frameworks to raise concern about the humanitarian impact and support efforts to ensure essential supplies reach Cuba.
