We ask the UK Government to review Israeli driving licence standards and, if comparable, add Israel to the list of designated countries whose licences can be exchanged for a UK licence without requiring a practical test, including exploring a reciprocal agreement.
Israeli licence holders who become UK residents must retake theory and practical tests after 12 months, regardless of prior driving experience. If Israel’s testing and safety standards are comparable to the UK’s, this creates unnecessary cost and duplication. We ask the Government to review the standards and consider a fair, reciprocal exchange arrangement.
