The Government must ring-fence 100% of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) for road infrastructure. We call for a National Plan that mandates local authorities to meet strict repair deadlines and safety targets, ensuring road tax is used solely to eliminate the pothole crisis and improve road quality.

Motorists pay billions in road tax, yet the infrastructure we see is crumbling, causing dangerous conditions and costly vehicle repairs. Only a fraction of VED is currently spent on roads. By ring-fencing this tax and setting legal repair targets, we believe the Government can ensure accountability and safety. This petition is not about tax cuts; it is about ensuring that the money we already pay is used as originally intended to create a road network that is safe, efficient, and fit for purpose.
