Increase funding for greater professional training, public awareness and earlier diagnosis for Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) to ensure better patient and family support across the NHS.
Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare, progressive neurodegenerative disease that is frequently misdiagnosed. These delays can result in lost time, unnecessary suffering, and limited access to appropriate care and support. Many families experience delayed diagnosis and a lack of clear information. By the time MSA is correctly identified, opportunities for earlier support, care planning, and informed decision-making may already be missed.
