Milestones

We call on the Government to consider measures such as requiring employers to provide guaranteed sick leave paid at the employee’s usual rate (not statutory sick pay) for employees with chronic illnesses who experience regular flare-ups.

No one should have to choose between managing their health and earning an income. While it is encouraging that support is being debated in Parliament for those living with endometriosis and adenomyosis, we think that sick leave provisions should not be limited to one specific condition. Many individuals with a wide range of chronic illnesses experience regular flare-ups that significantly impact their ability to work. Support should be fair, inclusive, and based on need rather than diagnosis, ensuring equal protection for all chronic illness sufferers.
