Reinstate Post 16 transport for disabled young adults. Personal Transport Budgets do not work for all families.

The replacement of dedicated post-16 transport with Personal Transport Budgets is placing unfair pressure on families of disabled young adults. Many working families live miles from specialist SEN provision, as suitable placements are often not local. The funding offered does not reflect the real cost or practical challenges of providing safe, reliable transport, shifting responsibility and financial risk onto parents. This risks limiting disabled young people’s access to education and independence.
