We call on the Government to commission the production of a clear and simple, unbiased guide to the basics of voting and our political system. This could take the form of a leaflet delivered to every address in the UK; accompanied by a well publicised, prime time, TV address.
Voting turnout in the UK is low - meaning too many people don't get to have a say in how the country is run. Furthermore, of those who do vote, many report not feeling fully informed of who they are voting for and why. We believe it's vital that the British public understands how to vote, how to decide who to vote for, where to find unbiased information and why their vote matters - as well as the roles of local and central government.
